We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, ensuring high-quality results that contribute to patient diagnosis and care. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures.

 

Responsibilities

Perform specimen ascension and processing. Prepare tissue samples for histological examination by embedding, sectioning, and staining. Maintain accurate records of specimens and ensure proper labeling and documentation. Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination. Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to ensure timely processing of specimens. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Skills Proficient in specimen collection processing. Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques relevant to histology. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patients.

 

Part time, flexible hours.

 

This is a newly opened private gastroenterology pathology lab. We are seeking an EXPERIENCED histotechnician as you will be the sole employee. Job will start with lab set up- shorter hours on January 31st , planning to be fully running by March 1st, 2025.

 

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $31-$36

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
